Buyer FAQs

How does Trousso work?

The items on Trousso’s site are listed by sellers (including both individuals and boutique partners) who wish to sell their item to another bride.

Upon purchase, products are shipped to Trousso for a quality review to ensure they are as described by the seller. If we find that the product is inauthentic or not as described, we’ll notify you and offer a full refund. Once reviewed and approved, we’ll ship the purchased item to you. 

Who are the sellers on Trousso?

Sellers are typically brides who are selling their outfits. We also partner with bridal shops to help them sell their excess inventory and/or sample items. If you’d like to sell an item, please fill out our intake form.

Which types of items can I find on Trousso?

Currently, we offer white, bridal outfits (outside of the wedding gown), as well as bridal accessories and footwear. Stay tuned for additional categories coming soon!

Can I try the item on?

Typically, no. However, select items are available for try-on in NYC. Reach out if there’s an item you’d like to try on, and we will do our best to work with you to make it happen!

How will I know if something will fit?

Whenever possible, we include the designer’s sizing information so that you can measure yourself accordingly. If the item does not fit perfectly, we’d be happy to recommend a tailor in your area to alter the item for you!

What is your return policy?

When will I receive my order?

Most of the items on Trousso are shipped first to Trousso to undergo a quality review before being delivered to you. It typically takes 10-14 business days for these items to be delivered to a buyer. This allows time for Trousso to receive the order from the seller, review and verify the item, and then ship the item to you. Please note that in some rare cases, it may take up to 30 days for you to receive the item.

While the majority of purchases ship on schedule, there may be delays in shipment and/or fulfillment for your order for a variety of reasons that are out of our control. All delivery dates are only estimates and are not guaranteed. Weather-related delays, carrier restrictions, or other unforeseeable circumstances may have an impact on shipments.

What happens if there is an issue with my order?

If we discover that your product is not as described, we will take reasonable steps to complete your order with the same item from a different seller, even if this means Trousso pays the difference between the price for the item and the price you paid. During the review process, we will let you know if we are unable to find the same item from a different seller and will give you a full refund for your purchase.

How will I know if there's an issue with my order?

Should any issues arise with your order, Trousso customer support will reach out to you at the email address you provided during checkout.

Do you ship internationally?

We ship anywhere within the continental US, and do not ship internationally just yet.

Seller FAQs

Which types of items can I sell with Trousso?

At this time, we are focused on white, bridal dresses outside of the wedding gown, as well as accessories and footwear. (Think: engagement party / photoshoot, bridal shower, bachelorette, welcome party, rehearsal dinner, reception, afterparty, farewell brunch, honeymoon, etc.)

You are welcome to fill out our intake form for items such as wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and wedding guest apparel, and we will keep you informed on our timeline for including these items on our platform.

How should I price my items?

We generally find that the higher the resale discount from retail, the more quickly an item will sell. To give your item the best chance of selling, we recommend pricing the item with 30+% off – see below for our pricing recommendations based on item condition.

  • New with tags → minimum 25% discount
  • New without tags → minimum 25% discount
  • Worn once & dry-cleaned → minimum 30% discount
  • Worn once & not dry-cleaned → minimum 35% discount
  • Worn more than once → minimum 40% discount
  • Altered? → add 10% discount

Will Trousso store my items for me?

Typically, sellers keep possession of their items until they sell; however, if you’d like to clear out closet space, we can hold onto your dresses - send an email to hello@trousso.co to learn more! 

Who pays for shipping?

Shipping is paid for by the buyer of an item.

What happens when my item sells?

We’ll notify you via email that your item has sold and email you a pre-paid shipping label.

When do I receive payment for my item that sold?

Sellers will be paid once the item has been delivered to and accepted by the buyer (maximum 3 days post-delivery). 

If an item is not as described within the listing or is sent the wrong item, the buyer can report these issues with the order within 3 days of order delivery. In these cases, sellers will not be paid out and will have items returned to them.

How do I get paid?

We issue payment through either our PayPal or Venmo business account. We only collect this information once an item has sold.
